It’s been a busy month and I’ve been dreaming of a vacation. Since I’ve neither the time nor money for a grand adventure, I’m doing the next best thing: COFFEE! - This bag of Urth Cafe beans grabbed my eye with the name Milano. (Wow, I want to get back to Italy!) I’m sure it won’t match Tazza d’Oro, but maybe it’ll keep me from splurging on a plane ticket while I finish my book.
Out of the grinder, the beans had a sweet smell, followed by coco. The morning was off to a good Mediterranean start. Like surf off the coast of Bari, the grind froths when hit with water. My buzz from the steamy aroma was so strong, I almost forgot to drink.
The flavor is rich, with a slightly bitter bite at the end. The overall flavor is silky with the splash of half and half. It wasn’t taking me back to Milan, but it kept me from worrying about emails stacked in my inbox. For the record, I’d say it’s a worthy bean to place in my top 3, so far. But as coffee brands expand, like Marco Polo, I’ve got more exploring to do. Ciao!
