Things to come in the New Year. Resolutions for change and how things will be good when…
If there is one thing I’ve learned writing my memoir and starting the Hey Life, WTF? Substack, it’s that nothing comes without effort. Achieving any goal demands an honest appraisal of desired results, necessary vs. possible actions, and most important (I think) mistakes. If mistakes haven’t been made, then has there even been effort?

I don’t remember the last time I made a resolution, and again I didn’t this year. But, here is what I know. I know I’ll finish my book and seek an editor. I’ll look for an agent and publisher, but have no control over whether or not I get one. Afterward, I’ll put my focus back on screenwriting and production, and, most of all, doing those things with a boundless zest for life.
I’m starting the new year a slightly changed man. Travel does that to a person. You never come home the same way you left. Italy oozes passion through its people, food, cities, art, and history. The country has driven me to be more passionate. So rather than a resolution, I have a wish for us all: That in 2023 may we have the courage to seek what we want, and achieve it in a way that keeps our hearts full.
